Listed by Screen International in 2005 as one of “the UK’s most exciting new directors”, Amanda’s career has taken off since her UK Film Council supported short ‘Hotel Infinity’ (“A lyrical short with an intellectual twist, it shows Boyle’s originality.” Screen International).

Her follow up short ‘Pop Art’, made by the BBC, UK Film Council and Film London, was winner of the Audience award at the Austin Film Festival; winner of Best Narrative Short at the RiverRun Film Festival; and winner of a Special Jury Prize for directing at the Atlanta Film Festival.
(“The prodigiously talented British Filmmaker Amanda Boyle’s latest unique offering is a 20 minute imaginative meditation on the complexities of friendship and isolation…with the help of some very clever and disarmingly charming puppetry.” Dazed & Confused)

She worked as a director on the new cult show ‘Misfits’ for Channel 4, and her most recent work was as a lead director on the thought provoking new Channel 4 series ‘Cast Offs’ (for which she directed episodes one, five and six).
