Nick’s career began as an animator, hand painting film and stop-framing around Camden Town. His took his first directorial steps at college making little doccies with Garth of Hammer & Tongs. His experimental short ‘MONDAY’ played at the 1998 Edinburgh Film Festival but it was his award winning music video for Roni Size’s ‘BROWN PAPER BAG’ that got the ball rolling. In 2002 his Placebo video ‘PURE MORNING’ garnered further awards and propelled him into commercials.

Nick’s 1XTRA commercial, ‘STREETMUSIC’ went on to win a D&AD pencil and Golds at the BTAA’s plus ‘Commercial Of The Year’ at the 2003 BTAA Craft awards. Later his Levis commercial won gold arrows and pencils in 2005, including Best Direction and Best Commercial 30”.

In 2007 Nick completed his short, ‘SATURDAYS SHADOW’ which premiered at the New York Film Festival and has played in a raft of other festivals, including the Black Maria Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix.

Since then, his Sony ‘MUSIC PIECES’ commercial won a Silver & 2 Gold arrows followed by 2 pencils at the D&AD’s.

Nick’s curiosity and love of new ways of looking at the world is as strong as ever.
