Having studied Fine Arts at Leeds University, Sebastian Edwards diversified from painting to experimenting with video art. His video installations developed increasingly sophisticated narrative and led to him making his first short film. The NYU Film School were impressed with his showreel and accepted him on their film course.

On graduation Seb returned to London. Initially working as a runner, then assistant director on various commercials and feature films, He then directed commercials for Home (formerly Brave Films) which include an Anti-Litter Campaign for the GLA (Euro RSCG London), Sony Playstation ‘Time Crisis 3’ (TBWA) and Nokia N-Gage (Grey Worldwide).

In June 2004, Seb was awarded first prize at the Cannes cfp-e/shots Young Directors Awards for Sony Playstation ‘Time Crisis 3’. He also received an award in The New Media Category for Sony Playstation ‘Time Crisis 3’ at the Shark Awards in September 2004.

Seb joined Academy in August 2006 and during his time here has grown as a Director, developing a strong cinematic style. He has shot ads for several high profile clients including HSBC, AT&T, Vodafone and The Army (with his campaign ‘Debris’ and ‘Waiting to happen’ picking up a Gold Award at the 2009 Cannes Lions).
