Corin grew up in a world steeped in creatures & creativity, beginning his early career as a special fx monster-maker in his bike shed, aged 12.
A keen sculptor, illustrator & film-maker obsessed and motivated by a healthy mixture of 1970’s storybooks and & 80’s horror cinema, his balance of live action & animated work frequently takes inspiration from the strange, beautiful and bizarre.
A degree in practical special effects at Wimbledon School Of Art lead to an award winning stop-motion short ‘Butterfly’ in 2003. His music video was launched with Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ & ‘Bedshaped’ which were followed by promos for diverse artists ranging from commercial acts such as Mcfly and The Feeling, to underground bands Jon Spencer, Martin Grech and The Rumblestrips. Other works on his reel include his MVA award winning Horrors promo ‘She is the new thing’, ‘Warriors Dance’ by The Prodigy (which won Rushes Shorts Best Music Video and a Saatchi New Directors Showcase nomination 2009) and Paolo Nutini’s recent live action/animated video ‘Pencil Full Of Lead’.
In 2009 Corin was also commissioned to make a short viral film for the BBC’s Poetry Season which featured punks ‘The King Blues’ reciting a classic Lord Byron poem during the throes of a sweat drenched gig.
And in 2010 Corin completed a commercial & music video double, shot in Glasgow and Ghana, for Fallon’s ‘Big Swap Songs’ as part of a their Fairtrade Fortnight Campaign.
Corin continues to develop & garner interest in his own film projects including ‘Refuge’ which will be produced by Sam Raimi for Ghost House Pictures.
