Left Eye Blind are a young collective currently based in Leeds. They are three diversely talented people: Jamie Donoughue, Aurora Fearnley and Matt Maude.
Jamie discovered his love for directing whilst working on set at the age of 17. A graduate of the University of Salford in Television Production, Jamie worked as a freelance director before moving back to Leeds to set up a broadcast and corporate video production company. In need of a musical creative outlet he began working closely with the emerging music scene, promoting artists, managing bands and releasing material before moving into producing music videos for local artists.
Aurora began writing plays as a teenager and with a strong grounding in theatre she developed into an actor and a director. Progressing into film and with three years training at the Northern Film School behind her, Aurora continued to develop strong linear storytelling within her work. In addition to her strengths of directing, Aurora is an editor in her own right.
Matt has been working in television since he was 15. Firstly as a camera trainee, then as an actor. At 18, Matt directed his first music video which appeared on MTV2 building his reputation as a young director. More music videos followed as Matt swapped study for work concentrating his time directing and producing promos. Matt has also worked extensively in America and India on documentaries for PBS National broadcast and MSN.
Having met in 2007, the trio began collaborating together under the name of Left Eye Blind in early 2008. Since their inception the collective has tallied more than 10 music videos working with unsigned artists and small record labels.
They signed to Academy in 2009.
