GRANDMAS

Biography

GRANDMAS

GRANDMAS draw their inspiration from the post-industrial areas of the North West, in which they were raised. The social clubs and run-down seaside towns served up colourful and peculiar characters that GRANDMAS champion with their unorthodox perspective and unique brand of morbid humour.

Recently, GRANDMAS have directed a film for Beats starring Cole Palmer gliding on ice and a commercial for Motorway through Uncommon.  Their controversial spot for Channel 4's Climate Season won them 3 awards at the British Arrows in 2024.

‘Norteños’ - GRANDMAS’ short film - has won multiple awards and recognition at festivals including BIFA, Raindance, Aesthetica, Encounters, Clermont-Ferrand, LSFF and Slamdance as well as being featured as part of the Cannes New Creators Showcase 2022. After its run on the international festival circuit the film landed them a licensing deal with Canal+. They are also in development with BBC/NBC Universal to turn this into a TV series.

They are in development on further projects including two feature films, one with BBC Film and the other with Film4 and Academy, plus multiple television projects in the pipeline.
