Savanah Leaf

Savanah Leaf has transitioned from 2012 Olympian to BAFTA winning filmmaker.

Her directorial feature film debut Earth Mama, backed by Film4, A24 and Focus Pictures, premiered at Sundance in 2023, and won Savanah a BAFTA for Best Debut Feature.  She won The Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Feature at the BIFAs, opened New Directors/New Films festival in New York and won the Audience Award at San Francisco International Film Festival. Earth Mama prompted Indiewire to say 'Learn the name, Savanah Leaf'' in a gushing review that echoed many other industry critics.

In advertising, Savanah's distinct and emotive directing hallmarks have led to work with Nike, Tena, Zalando, Beats and more.  Other previous work includes a short documentary titled The Heart Still Hums (2020), which won ‘Best Documentary Short’ at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, Blackstar film festival, Nashville film festival, and was released with Fox Searchlight Shorts. Her music video This Land for Gary Clark Jr. was nominated for Best Music Video at the 2020 Grammys.
