Bonnie Moir


Bonnie brings a unique sensitivity and insight to her work as a director. She is driven to tell engrossing stories that explore themes of diversity and the complexities of the human condition and her directorial style is marked by a propensity for directing nuanced performances, grounded in moments of vulnerability and truth.

Her most recent short film, Were Not Here, was shot in rural Mexico and screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival and Outfest LA supported by HBO. The film won the Best Screenplay Award at the Melbourne Queer FF in 2020 and the Best Cinematography Award at The Reel Good Film Festival in 2021. Over the past four years her previous short films have screened internationally at festivals including the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Hollyshorts LA and The Maryland Film Festival.

Bonnie was assistant director on Garth Davis movies, Lion, Mary Magdalene and his most recent project, Foe starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal.
