Billy Boyd Cape

Billy has been passionately shooting since his teenage years, photographing and filming musicians of all sorts from FKA Twigs, Pussy Riot to Pendulum.

Still a teenager starting at Bournemouth Film School, he spent most of his time back in London collaborating with classmates and directing music videos. He quickly took off, garnering millions of views by making several commercially successful videos for artists such as Jakwob and Mr. Hudson.

During this time Billy also Produced a feature-doc Beyond Clueless which had its world premiered at South by South West, followed by a UK theatrical run, then finally landing on Netflix. His personal project A Wander Through Hong Kong got him his first Vimeo staff pick and his short film 'More Hate Than Fear' was nominated for awards at Camerimage and the Royal Television Society.

In 2018 Billy directed 'Reach', an award winning short for the Channel 4 Random Acts series, and 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' for Pride in London.  Pride won a D&AD Yellow Pencil and New Director Awards at the British Arrows, Kinsale and Ciclopes, plus inclusion at the Saatchi Showcase in Cannes.  Billy was also selected by Campaign Magazine as one of the Top 10 Directors of 2018 in its end of year issue, with Pride sitting on the list of top commercials. Further work for ITV and Nike has won awards including 2 pencils at D&AD, and presented Billy as one of advertisings new stars.
