GRANDMAS
GRANDMAS draw their inspiration from the post-industrial areas of the North West, in which they were raised. The social clubs and run-down seaside towns served up colourful and peculiar characters that GRANDMAS champion with their unorthodox perspective and unique brand of morbid humour.
‘Norteños’ is GRANDMAS’ first short film and has won awards and recognition at festivals including BIFA, Raindance, Aesthetica, Encounters, Clermont-Ferrand, LSFF and Slamdance as well as being part of the Cannes New Creators Showcase 2022. After its run on the international festival circuit the film also landed them a licensing deal with Canal+.
They are currently in development with NBC Universal on their first TV series and in post production on their short film commissioned by BBC/BFI.
